Facts About Bob Greenstone
- As a young teenager in the mid sixties, Bob was thrown into the
'business' world of Rock N Roll, even signing a record deal with Roulette Records while
still in high school. Strangely enough, the founder of that company founded
Heartland Music, a leading infomercial company that was acquired by Time-Life.
- After completing college on a scholarship and while attending an MBA
program in San Diego, Bob built a successful retail automotive chain of tune-up
shops. In 1979, he sold the chain to well known race car driver Andy Granetelli.
- In the 1980's, Greenstone and Company (Bob's marketing consulting
firm) focused on selling businesses. Bob's personal production for the 80's was well
into the tens of millions of dollars.
- Bob purchased his first local cable spot for $1 in 1984.
- Bob developed a better way for businesses to buy local cable and was
hired by Cox Cable in San Diego to work with its sales reps to help develop business.
- Bob was first introduced to the concept of infomercials when local
30-minute Infomercial time could be purchased for $25 for prime time on Channel 4 on local
cable. Bob's firm made a slew of infomercials for their local clients and soon
became the largest buyer of infomercial time locally in San Diego.
- Bob went directly to other national infomercial marketers like Ron
Popeil, Carlton Sheets and Don Lapre to sell them time and ended up building the largest
local cable 30 minute time media business in the country.
- In 1995, Greenstone and Company secured one of the first Per Inquiry
deals for an Internet Ecommerce site.
- Now in their own building, a new corporation (Permission Interactive,
Inc.), large in-house customer care team, technical team which includes 13 full-time SQL
and XML computer programmers, Bob has built the largest Incremental Sales Channel in
the DRTV industry.
